Our history

The New Mexico Masonic Youth Committee was formed because there was a clear need for members of the 3 New Mexico Masonic youth groups to have more support from the Masons of New Mexico.

Our mission

It is well understood and accepted that  Masonic Youth play an important role in the growth and development of  our Craft and represent an excellent opportunity to the Craft to fulfill  the role of “builders” of human character.

To that end it is  the Mission of the Masonic Youth Committee of the Grand Lodge of New  Mexico to foster the growth, development and expansion of Masonic Youth  Groups in New Mexico as well as provide for the general welfare of the  youth under the charge of DeMolay International, International Order of  Rainbow and Job’s Daughters International.

Essential elements of our Mission include, but are not limited to, the following:

Insure that all Masonic Youth Groups have appropriate mechanisms in  place for Youth Protection, including Advisor Training/Education; Youth  Protection Programs; Continuing education/training; and appropriate  insurance coverage to indemnify the Grand Lodge of New Mexico and those  Bodies sponsoring Masonic Youth Groups.  The committee will ask all  Masonic Youth Bodies to provide documentation to the same for file in  the office of the Grand Lodge of New Mexico.

Encourage the  collegial relationship between all Masonic Youth Bodies through the  creation of Masonic Youth events under the umbrella of the Grand Lodge  of New Mexico.  Said events would be service projects both statewide and  regionally as well as social events and learning opportunities.

Coordination of a Speakers Bureau to be prepared for presentations and  displays at meetings of Lodges, Grand Lodge and Appendant Bodies to  expand the knowledge of the Craft to the opportunities of sponsoring  Masonic Youth Groups.

Creation of recognition programs for  Lodges and Individuals who have contributed in extraordinary fashion to  the Masonic Youth of New Mexico.
